Large-scale Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
